  • As a Quality Engineer you will build quality into the production process, ensuring our components are produced to the highest standards.

    Working with the Quality Manager you will maintain the AS9100 standard and generate improvement activities and processes to increase efficiency and productivity.

    Responsibilities include:

    Preparation and co-ordination of FAIR’s to AS9102 standard.

    Generation of Control Plans, to ensure key characteristics and customer requirements are met throughout the production process.

    Contract review – capability, new product introduction and engineering change control.

    Update and maintain the Quality Manual to AS9100 standard.

    Training – Lead training sessions and workshops relating to use of Inspection equipment and standard operating procedures.

    Perform and action Audits (internal & supplier).

    Coordination of corrective and preventative actions (8D, Root cause analysis).

    Inspection of parts via first-off In-process & final inspection (use of multiple measurement equipment and techniques).

    Perform equipment calibrations and maintain the calibration register.

    Material Review Board – review, monitor and action internal & external non-conformances controlling the quarantine process.

    Gauge Control – Control of gauging ensuring all gauges are maintained and controlled.

  • ICMM Quality Inspectors/Technicians will support the business’s engineering and manufacturing contract through all first off submissions and final inspections. You will work closely with the staff on the shop floor in Milling, Turning, Finishing, Quality, Assembly and Dispatch.

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

    • CNC CMM operation, programming

    • Maintaining and updating CMM program database to support operator use

    • First off review and approval using fastest method for required precision (manual tools or specialized equipment) covering the complete scope of the job pack and customer requirements, process requirements and Control Plan

    I.E. checking part against drawing or solid model and issue status, all features complete to the operation being machined, all sizes not just within tolerances but as close to mid limit as possible (unless otherwise indicated), all finishes to be to an acceptable standard reflective of the method of machining, all features are complete, correctly positioned and oriented

    • Provide support to shop floor staff relating to in-progress inspection, measuring techniques and understanding of Control Plan, driving In-Process inspections on the shop floor

    • Performing shop floor patrol inspections to pick up any issues in earliest stage possible

    • Coordinate shop floor measuring equipment and gauges cabinet ensuring that all equipment is calibrated and in correct location

    • Championing Quality on the shop floor, mentoring cell leaders, setters and operators in regards to Quality topics,

    • ensuring that all Non-Conforming product is correctly labelled and placed in MRB area, performing pre-MRB review if required

    • Following connected to activity processes defined by AS9100 QMS connected to job activity (SOP 07.02, SOP 07.03, SOP 08.02)

    • Using knowledge of the manufacturing process you will update and maintain control plans to highlight key features of parts.

    With this in mind, the level of understanding of the part / drawing and knowledge of the machining process required by the inspector is not just measuring parts but being a critical eye for all aspects of the quality parts on a level with the setter if not technically greater than the setter as the person who will offer guidance regarding the parts critical features will quite often be the inspection team.

  • Job purpose Summary

    To accurately set and run 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC milling machines in order to manufacture complex high variety low volume components.

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

    • Read, understand and examine engineering drawings and specifications to determine appropriate method, sequence of operations and machine setting

    • Select and fix work-holding devices and appropriate cutting, shaping, and/or forming tools

    • Produce robust set ups which are poka-yoke and work with operators to ensure they understand loading instruction

    • Operate automatic or manual controls to clock vices/ fixture and set datums

    • Repositions workpiece, change tools and reset machine as necessary during production run

    • Instruct operator on the safe and correct method of operation of the machine

    • Self-inspect to customer required tolerances

    • Accurately select tooling, use measuring equipment

    • Set and safely operate machinery: 3,4 and 5 Axis machines

    • Work in accordance to the standards required by the company and their customers

    • Problem solve and work often on own initiative

    • Continue to help/improve work environment and carry out housekeeping duties in line with 5S.

    • Work in accordance to the standards required by the company and their customers

  • Job purpose Summary

    The main purpose of this role is to process raw machined parts accordingly to their destination (further treatment). This will include basic deburring as well as polishing aesthetic aerospace component under tight timescales whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality required.

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

    • To process parts accordingly to required finish using hand and power tools,

    • To adhere to company procedures,

    • Identify parts to technical drawing/job card, book times into a relevant operation, inspect your own work, book parts out including any non-conforming parts, sign paperwork and pass job to next process,

    • Report discrepancies in parts and/or paperwork,

    • To work in conjunction with Company’s Health and Safety policy and report any health and safety concerns,

    • To present flexibility towards time of work and to work in other departments when required,

    • Continue to help/improve work environment and carry out housekeeping duties in line with 5S.
